On arrival in Canada, floor looms were constructed and soon rugs were being produced to serve the households. The rugs were produced in various lengths and widths. Colours were dictated by the organic dyes used. Now, only a few Doukhobors maintain this craft.
Contemporary prize winning rugs by Bob Ewashen. He produces many rugs of varying patterns and colours and has been a consistent first prize winner at the Creston Fall Fair.
